I work on my own, by myself in my home office. However, like so many people I thrive with contact of people; like minded people, people to debate with, people to share ideas and thoughts with, people who are kind and people who stretch my patience.  Finding ourselves at home, without the social interaction during the Covid-19 pandemic, has really highlighted to so many of us how we are better as part of something bigger.  We miss (most) of our colleagues, friends; those people whom we see every day.  A chat, a natter, a chin-wag or even a gossip (nicely not maliciously please). 

In a small business or working on our own, we miss a sounding board, someone to bounce ideas off, someone who understands us and our business, who cares as passionately about it as we do, who wants us to succeed and who strives with us for that success.  Part of my ethos for creating MK-Virtual Assistant is to be that person for small businesses.  Someone you can pick the phone up to, who’s committed to your business alongside you (if you are my client, then your business is my business). 

A VA is that drop which helps you to create your ocean without weighing your business down with long term commitments or overheads.  Incorporating new skills, capabilities and creating more time in your day, whilst actioning time-consuming tasks or working on projects for you – you are able to work on other things; so together we are greater than the sum of our parts.

Individually we are one drop, together we are an ocean.

Too many times we attempt to do everything and usually achieving very little.  I set-up MK-Virtual Assistant as I wanted to offer a service for people who were inundated by their workloads.  Spending much of their time doing everything that needed to be administered for the day-to-day running of the business.  Without being able to progress at pace for the actions required to move their business onward.

A brief introduction for how my series of working together quotes came about.  I offer a business support service, fundamentally my job is to make the work lives of those people whom I support better; be it their time used more efficiently, their workload less of a burden or deliver work they do not have the expertise themselves to do.  I wanted quotes which showcased this ethos for my website and I thought I’d share them with you and talk through what they mean to me.

Letting people know who we are and what we do is probably the largest barrier for us to overcome in obtaining new clients.  Some potential clients already know what support they require and are just looking for the right person.  For others, an understanding of how a VA has the potential to support their business is critical.

I have many years event management experience, ranging from supplier conferences at the NEC, employee conferences and prestigious executive events at 5* London hotels, attendee numbers from small teams to large scale events with 2,000 delegates.  

I am passionate about creating great looking presentations which enable you to deliver your message in the best possible way.    It is so time consuming to spend the hours involved in creating a visually impactful presentations, send me the bare bones and get on with all the other things you need to do.  I will create for you a presentation that has your audience entranced with the high level of design and top-quality visuals.

I have spent several years within a large corporate business, working alongside colleagues of all levels delivering project management and programme support.  I can help an inexperienced in-house team establish new projects and set-up the controls needed to monitor how it all progresses.  I’ve worked with teams to obtain authorisation, scope projects, establish projects and manage projects from kick-off to post implementation reviews. I can provide comprehensive Executive level programme management controls, analysis and reporting. 

The hugely time-consuming process of sourcing products and services, is a task that can be outsourced to a VA.  I’ve negotiated with contractors, suppliers and vendors and can apply those experiences on your behalf, reducing your time commitment considerably.

I have made complex travel arrangements for Executives to travel the world, from US to the Far East, involving expedited visa applications, sourcing replacement passports for foreign nationals travelling to different countries on complex multi-site, multi-country routes.  When I arrange travel, I provide a full door-to-door itinerary, including airport transfers, hotel details, dinner reservations at preferred restaurants, in country train transportation and a host of other helpful information.

During my investigations into starting my own business, I quickly decided that I wanted to offer a niche service; executive virtual assistance. To provide top-tier support to Entrepreneurs, Executives and Business Owners, so I resolved to be brave and MK-Virtual Assistant was created.

The foundations of my business are the quantifiable skills of project, programme and event management, presentation & document creation and design plus procurement alongside complex travel arrangements. Alongside these sit that which elevates an Executive Assistant into vital support; the ability to work with top level professionals, a high level of commercial acumen and the ability to hold their own. These unique set of capabilities are which enable me to support through many different facets of a business.

Businesses are now going to have to work even smarter, quite often with less resources, and I believe that this positions me ideally with the expertise needed without being a long term overhead or financial burden.
